Common Name: Peppermint Shrimp

Scientific Name: Lysmata wurdemanni/rathbunae

Peppermint shrimp are known for eating the nuisance anemone Aiptasia as well as for cleaning parasites off of tank residents.

These two species are similar in appearance with pink color and darker red markings, and are often collected together.

Peppermint shrimp are ideal for reef aquariums or for fish-only tanks with residents that do not prey upon shrimp.
